Bauchi Rape Law Will Be Amended To Include Castration Of Convicted Rapists _ Governor

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has disclosed that the state's laws will be amended to include castration for convicted rapists in the state. 

This was disclosed by the Governor during a courtesy visit from the Minister of Women Affairs and Child Development, Dame Paulen Tallen, paid to his office on Thursday. 

The Governor noted that with the alarming rate of rape cases in the state, the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Bill which was recently signed into law will be taken to the State Assembly for an amendment to include the castration of rapists. 

"Honestly, I think we better destroy the instrument of rape by going for castration because even when I pardon somebody, I discovered that he was a serial rapist," the Governor said. 

Bauchi will join Kaduna in signing into law castration for convicted rapists.
