Allow SARS Operatives Work In Areas Where They Are Effective _ Gov Fayemi

Following the disbandment of the controversial Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has appealed that the now-defunct police unit be allowed to operate in areas where they are effective.

This was disclosed by the Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governor's Forum during a media programme.

Governor Fayemi while expressing support for the ongoing youths protests across the country against police brutality also pleaded that the SARS should be allowed to operate in areas where they are effective.

According to the Governor, it's important the country gets to the roots of the problem agitated as he assured that officers found culpable of human rights violations will be brought to book.
