"Hisbah’s threats against the phrase ’Black Friday’ is nonsensical" _ Senator Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani

Following an earlier report on Kano’s Sharia Police, Hisbah, issuing a notice letter to a radio station, Cool FM, demanding that they stop calling Friday ‘Black Friday’ due to ‘Black Friday Sales’ conducted today being Friday, November 27, Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani, has knocked the Kano Hisbah over the letter written to Cool FM.

The Sharia Police had stated in a now circulated letter that most of Kano residents are Muslims who consider Friday a holy day. Hence, it demanded that Cool FM should stop calling and tagging Friday ‘Black Friday.

However, Senator Shehu Sani while reacting to the Hisbah letter on his media handle, stated that the comments by the Sharia Police was ‘nonsensical’.

He wrote;

''Friday is our sacred day of prayer as Muslims.Whatever colour is added to it doesn’t matter.Hisbah’s threats against the phrase’Black Friday’ is nonsensical.They should focus on the killings and kidnappings going on in their domains.Their services are needed in the battlefield.''
