Following the release of the abducted over 300 Kankara schoolboys, Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has said that bandits was responsible for the massive abduction of the released students and not the ‘Boko Haram’ sect.
This was stated by the Governor during a media interview on Thursday, December 17.
“They are bandits who kidnapped the schoolboys, not Boko Haram.” he said.
Governor Masari also said that no ransom was paid for the release of the abducted students, as it was purely based on negotiation.
Disclosing how the students were freed, the Governor revealed that the Nigerian Army and Police respectively, members of ‘Miyetti Allah’, and some top government officials including his adviser, were all involved in the negotiation for the release of the 344 abducted students.
