EndSARS: No one was killed at Lekki Toll Gate - Gen Buratai

Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has alleged that nobody was killed during the EndSARS protest which took place at the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate on October 20.

This was stressed by Buratai while speaking at the decoration of 39 newly promoted Major Generals in Abuja on Friday, December 4, as he affirmed that those claiming protesters were killed were seeing double.

This is amidst several video and pictorial reports from the Toll Gate scene which occurred on October 20.

While the Army Chief insists that nobody was killed and that the evidence provided by witnesses were false, the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army had also maintained that soldiers deployed to the Toll Gate did not kill any protester.

Gen. Buratai in his words said;

“I am glad that we held the Spiritual Warfare Seminar on Wednesday and most of the decorated Generals today are graduates of the Spiritual Warfare Seminar.

“I must say that the Spiritual Warfare Seminar we had last time, helped us during the last #EndSARS protest to the extent that there was no single corpse, but some persons were seeing double at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos State.”
