Man Nabbed In Possession Of Hard Drugs Bags 12 Strokes Of Cane In Kano

25-years-old Umar Yahaya, who was caught in possession of hard drugs in Kano state, is to be flogged 12 strokes of cane and also pay a fine of N10,000.

Yahaya was arrested on December 31, 2020, by a team of police officers attached to Fagge Division Kano around 7pm. 

He was nabbed in possession of two bottles of 'suck and die' suspected to be intoxicants, and 13 rubber solutions. 

Yahaya, a resident of Fagge Quarters of Kano metropolis, was convicted on two count charges of public disturbances and possession of 'suck and die' and  'rubber solution' - narcotics, as he pleaded guilty to the charges. 

Presiding over the judgment, Magistrate Mr Farouk Ibrahim, convicted the defendant and pronounced a sentence of one month in jail or an option fine of N10,000 and award of 12 strokes of cane.
