Bill and Melinda Gates' daughter, Jennifer speaks out following parents decision to divorce after 27 years

Following the divorce announcement of Bill and Melinda Gates, their eldest daughter, Jennifer Gates, has described her parents shock divorce announcement as a "challenging stretch of time".  

Taking to her Instagram story, she wrote;

"Hi friends by now many of you have heard the news that my parents are seperating"

"It's been a challenging stretch of time for the whole family"

“I’m still learning how to best support my own process and emotions as well as my family members at this time and am grateful for the space to do so, I won't personally comment further on anything around the separation.

She added that the kind words and support from people “mean the world to her”, as she also requested privacy while they navigate the next phase of their lives. 

Jennifer, 25, is the oldest of the enstraged couple's three children, followed by her brother, Rory, 21, and sister Phoebe, 18.

Jennifer is engaged to Nayel Nasar, a professional Egyptian equestrian rider and a Stanford graduate. 

According to Forbes, Bill Gates is the fourth richest person in the world, estimated to be worth $130.5billion. 

Meanwhile, back in 2017 on a 'Reddit ask me anything segment', Bill Gates had said his children will only inherit just $10million each - equivalent to less than 1% of his fortune.
