Nigerian student in Japan returns wallet loaded with cash, turns down percentage offer

A Nigerian doctorate student in the University of Tsukaba, Japan, identified as Ikenna Nweke, returned a missing wallet with a huge sum of money to the Japan authorities, and also turned down an offer of percentage from the authorities.

While saluting him for his honesty, President Muhammadu Buhari commended Ikenna for upholding the values of integrity and contentment, which were hallmark of every culture in Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement signed by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, noted that Ikenna’s behaviour was coming at a period the country needs a positive spotlight and good impression. He wished Ikenna success in his studies and endeavors.

He further beckoned on all Nigerians home and abroad to emulate Ikenna’s honest attribute and shun the get-rich-quick tendencies which results to individual and collective shame.
