Nehemiah's Should Arise In Nigeria _ Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo

As Nigeria prepares for its 60th Independence anniversary coming October 1st, the vice president of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbanjo, has advised Nigerians to join hands together so that the country will not collapse.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

Prof. Osinbajo emphasized the need for the unity of Nigerians so as not to let the fight for the nation's Independence be a waste.

This was disclosed by the Vice President while being represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, during an interdenominational church service held in Abuja on Sunday, September 27, to commemorate the Nigeria 60th Independence anniversary.

Vice President Yemi Osibanjo while referencing to Nehemiah, a man in the Holy Bible who stood in gap for Jerusalem and prayed to God on behalf of his people to rebuild Jerusalem's broken walls, urged those who have the love of this nation (Nigeria) in their heart to rise and stand in gap for Nigeria, just as Nehemiah did for Jerusalem.

The Vice President's speech reads in part;

"There’s an urgent need for a Nehemiah in our country, Nigeria, today. And like Nehemiah faced opposition in his efforts to rebuild the walls, any Nigerian that desires to rebuild Nigeria must also be ready to face stiffer opposition which will come in torrents. It can only be diffused by consistent focus and prayers.” (Culled from PUNCH
