Following the massive protests on the call for the scrap of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) of the Nigeria Police, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has said that many youths, inclusive of social media influencers, are using the #EndSARS protest to grow their popularity and fan base on social media.
This was disclosed by the Force's Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, during a media live programme on Friday.

Mba also urged the media to be diligent and fair enough in its reportage as it encompasses police brutality.
According to Mba, there are also video evidences of protesters slapping and killing policemen which have not gone viral.
“I have seen some of those who are pushing for end SARS who are just pseudo-activists, people who are desperate for public validation, people who are looking to be seen as social media influencers and I will tell you these are the people that post false items, fake news," he said.
