Ahead of the forthcoming guber election of Ondo state, Incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has disclosed that he made his embattled Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, the highest earning Deputy Governor in Nigeria.
Governor Akeredolu on Thursday said that he gave his Deputy the freedom to operate but he betrayed him.
This was disclosed by the incumbent Governor during a live programme on the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC), at the state capital, Akure.
According to the Governor, Ajayi does not want to wait for his appointed time.
Governor Akeredolu noted that despite his free will to Ajayi, he still betrayed him.
“No deputy governor has collected what he was collecting in the history of the state. I gave him N13m monthly; his predecessors did not collect as much as that. No deputy governor collects as much as that in Nigeria. I gave him enough room to operate, yet he betrayed me.” the Governor said.
The Governor however expressed his willingness to forgive all his detractors as he is a true christian.
Meanwhile, Agboola Ajayi, while reacting to Governor Akeredolu's statement has refuted the claims by the Governor.
In a response through his Media Adviser, Allen Sowore, he stated that his allowance stood at N12million monthly as against the N13million claimed by the Governor.
Also, Governor Akeredolu while expressing optimism on his second tenure come back, said that his administration has completed all abandoned projects of the previous administrations.
Hey Mr man, shut up. Is it your money or the state's ?. There is a commission set up to handle wages and salaries of public officers. If you violate this it is your fault and you should face the penalty and if out of magnanimity you are paying as you claim then expect your reward from heaven accordingly with making fuss.
