A policeman identified as Fatai Yekini, has been reportedly shot and injured by an official of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, Operation Amotekun.
Yekini, a special police constable attached to Ojongbodu Police Station, was shot by the Amotekun officer, Ibrahim Ogundele, at the Sanga area of Oyo town on Saturday, January 2.
Amotekun officer Ogundele was learnt to have opened fire on Yekini when the Ojongbodu police team arrived at the scene of a New Year carnival to drive people gathered there away.
This occurred around 3pm on Saturday. Meanwhile Ogundele was arrested and put in police detention while the injured cop was said to be receiving treatment at a hospital.
