"I can’t remember the number of people I killed"_ Repentant Boko Haram Fighter

Abdulwahab Usman, a repentant Boko Haram fighter, has said that he can not remember the number of people he has killed while he was a member of the dreaded Boko Haram group.

Usman, who is one of the 602 repentant Boko Haram fighters, had recently completed the de-radicalisation, rehabilitation, and reintegration programmes established by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Military.

While thanking the government for giving them a new life, Usman said that none of his fellow repentants was killed during any of the programmes.

According to Usman, the Nigerian government showed much hospitality to the repentant Boko Haram fighters as it was not initially expected.

While assuring on his decision not to go back to the dreaded group, Boko Haram, he noted that the government has chosen to be responsive.

“I was forced into the group for about five years. I can’t remember the number of people I killed as a Boko Haram member because they are many. Boko Haram people came to our village looking for those who are of school age and that was how my friends and I were forced into the group. Eventually, we escaped from Boko Haram hideout, so soldiers took us to Giwa barracks in Borno,” He said.
